University of Wisconsin Milwaukee has a last-minute opening for a tuba graduate student for Fall 2010. All out of state students will have the out-of-state tuition waived as well as the possibility of getting a job in the band department. This is a great opportunity! I am a past grad. student at UW-Milwaukee (trombone), and although I never studied with Marty directly I learned a LOT from observing him teach during our brass classes. He really knows how to develop the WHOLE student (technique, musicality, etc.). Teachers like him are rare. The Wind Ensemble conductor (Dr. John Climer) is also an amazing teacher, to say the least. After spending two years there I have a great deal of respect for (most of) the faculty at UWM.
