University of Wisconsin Milwaukee has a last-minute opening for a tuba graduate student for Fall 2010. All out of state students will have the out-of-state tuition waived as well as the possibility of getting a job in the band department. Anyone interested can e-mail Marty Erickson at martytuba@gmail.com" target="_blank" or call him at (517) 242-3964 to schedule an audition. Also feel free to PM me if you have any questions you might not feel comfortable asking Marty but would feel comfortable asking his grad. assistant.

The person accepted will also be warmly welcomed into Basso Vivace, the school's tuba/euphonium quartet, which will be playing on several concerts over the course of the year as well as potentially doing a few PR run-out concerts in the area. Don't miss out on this opportunity. Studying with Marty is worth its weight in gold-plated platinum.

This is a great opportunity! I am a past grad. student at UW-Milwaukee (trombone), and although I never studied with Marty directly I learned a LOT from observing him teach during our brass classes. He really knows how to develop the WHOLE student (technique, musicality, etc.). Teachers like him are rare. The Wind Ensemble conductor (Dr. John Climer) is also an amazing teacher, to say the least. After spending two years there I have a great deal of respect for (most of) the faculty at UWM.
JUMP ON THIS OPPORTUNITY FOLKS! :tuba:
