The Bay View Music Festival is currently accepting applications for the summer of 2011. Bay View is an eight-week chamber music festival and only accepts one student brass quintet, so the performing opportunities are plentiful. There is a 1:1 student/faculty ratio in the brass area, which means the tuba student receives a great deal of instruction and generally improves dramatically over the summer. Located near beautiful Petoskey, Michigan, the setting is truly inspiring with wonderful weather and close proximity to one of the best beaches on Lake Michigan.

There is scholarship money available for the right student and applications are accepted for individuals and pre-formed brass quintets.

Having been there for several years a while back, I can truly say that every year when I had to leave at the end of the summer, started the countdown to when I would be back. It is an Idyllic setting with great opportunities for making great music and getting great instruction. You'll meet some wonderfuIt is beautiful in the summer and the community is very student friendly. There is an awful lot to see in the area and, as noted, a great beach in the Petosky State Park just a little ways down the road.

Plus, Mr. Cameron is a very fine teacher and player. You'll learn a lot from him.
