The ideal candidate for this Festival is an advanced High School Student or Underclassmen in College.
One of the participants last Summer was a recent high school graduate who would be attending Eastman in the Fall. He played a ton and saw significant improvement. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Participants can choose from 2, 4, or the full 6 week sessions.

NYSMF is a six-week summer music camp filled with extraordinary musical opportunities for talented young musicians ages 11 to 25.

* Choose from more than 50 ensembles and classes.
* Perform in over 40 concerts each summer.
* Study 1-on-1 with some of the finest professional musicians from Juilliard, Curtis, the Manhattan School of Music, the New York Pops, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, and many, many other of the world's best performing ensembles

At NYSMF, you will experience a richly rewarding musical environment that is uniquely challenging, supportive, professional and fun.

Talented tuba and euphonium players are always in demand. Orchestras, Bands, Jazz Bands and Brass Ensembles and much more are available. I look forward to working with you this summer in upstate NY. Please email me if you have any questions. And please refer to http://www.nysmf.org" target="_blank" target="_blank for more information.

This is a GREAT opportunity for any serious, young tuba player to really build up some chops this summer. I was fortunate to visit as a guest artist last summer with the Knox Brass WorX Co. and I was really impressed with the camp, Oneonta, the teaching faculty and what a great player and guy Jason is. :tuba:

You will play tons. You will study with serious professionals. You will be able to meet and learn from some of the biggest names in music who are frequently brought in for masterclasses. You will be in a friendly, relaxed environment. I highly recommend the NYSMF. Do it. :!:

Is there any financial aid/scholarship money available? Also, is there a deadline for registration?

Thanks. :tuba:

Here's the update in two parts: 1) we now have dedicated scholarship money for tuba players. 2) we are close to landing a tuba player with a major symphony to spend a day with us for a masterclass/recital/possible lessons. I will confirm this person when it becomes official. Please apply! This is shaping up to be a fantastic Summer and we need you to be there!
