"President's Own" Tuba Audition
For those folks that have requested audition materials and are planning to attend the audition in December, please complete and return your applicant fact sheets sooner rather than later. This will give us a much better idea of what to expect that day and will help with audition planning. The preferred method is via email (scanned pdf) or fax. Snail mail has to go through an irradiation process that delays delivery considerably. Details can be found on the Marine Band website.
Thanks, and best of luck to all!

Are they adding a position, or has someone left?

Re: "President's Own" Tuba Audition
We departed for a commitment at 3:00 PM, and the committee had just asked for two of the four finalists to return and play again. I'm not on the committee (obviously) so I don't know who advanced, but they should, hopefully, have things concluded shortly.

Re: "President's Own" Tuba Audition
Is the committee for this audition able give comment sheets/tips for the players that didn't advance to maybe work out things for upcoming auditions? I wasn't sure who to e-mail about this (as some auditions have this information listed at the audition site, this one did not). Just wondering what I can do better next time. Thanks.
I can provide my audition number if that'll help be more specific.

Re: "President's Own" Tuba Audition
Congratulations to Landres Bryant!
I remember sitting next to Landres in the Palm Beach Gardens Comm Band about 8 or 9 years ago. Landres was just a HS freshman... or maybe sophomore at Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, FL. You could tell he was going to go far with his tuba playing. He had a great sound with a 6 or 7 octave range -- even as a HS student. He received a scholarship from the comm. band to attend Interlochen one summer.
Way to go Landres!!!
