The USAF Concert Band - Tuba July 16 2012

This is the first opening in the Concert Band since 2000. I look forward to reviewing many fantastic submissions.

Tuba Audition
Audition Process
Preliminary audition CDs/MP3s and resumes are due May 18, 2012. Applicants
who are considered musically qualified will be contacted by The USAF Band auditions
team and then by a local Air Force recruiter to assess each applicant's eligibility to
enlist in the Air Force. Once approved by the recruiter, applicants will receive an
audition invitation letter. All invited candidates must be prepared to meet Air Force
maximum allowable weight standards.
All live audition rounds will be held on Monday, July 16, 2012, at Joint Base
Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C. For more information call 1-800-283-8995 or

Preliminary Recording:
Preliminary Audition CDs/MP3s and resumes are due May 18, 2012. Please send
a resume and preliminary recording with the following requirements:
1. The Stars and Stripes Forever, J.P. Sousa - Beginning to first ending
2. Symphony in Bb, Paul Hindemith - Movement I, letter J to 1 after letter K
3. Lincolnshire Posy, Percy Grainger - Movement III, Rufford Park Poachers, pickup to m. 51 through m. 64
4. Concerto for Tuba, Ralph Vaughan Williams - Movement II, number 6 to four after number 7
The Vaughan Williams may be recorded with or without accompaniment; an excerpt from a live performance is acceptable. The lower divisi should be performed for all excerpts unless otherwise notated.
All recordings should be made within the past year. The Audition CD/mp3 and
current resume submission deadline is May 18, 2012. Submit MP3s and
