The dates Dec 3-4. Does that mean prelims will be spread over two days, or is the second round stuff on the 4th? Thanks.

Prelims Monday, subsequent rounds Tuesday. If turnout is extremely low, all rounds could conceivably be completed on Monday. That being said, last December 133 tuba players showed up to audition. It was a record number of applicants for our organization on any instrument. I would suspect many of those from that day are still in the audition pool.

Hello all,
Just a reminder that the U.S. Marine Band tuba audition is now just 4 weeks away. If you plan to come to Washington for this audition, please return your applicant fact sheets sooner rather than later so we can get a better idea of how many folks to expect.
Thanks,

One panel, 74 candidates, down to 8, down to 4 , down to 2, down to 1.
9+ hours of prelims on Monday, 5+ hours of semis and finals on Tuesday. Thanks to all who made the effort to come audition. It's not a pleasant way to choose a musician, but it's the best way that's out there (unless someone's got a better idea...).
