Tubenet,

The brass faculty at the Luzerne Music Center in NY are looking for some tubas (and all instruments for that matter!) who are interested in an intensive study through masterclasses, private lessons, and performing with the Luzerne Music Center Orchestra with some fantastic conductors this summer. There are two sessions, Junior(age 11-14) and Senior(age 15-18) sessions. Students will receive weekly private lessons, as well as chamber coachings and perform in the orchestra and brass choir. We will have a week long brass seminar Aug. 5-11 during our senior session involving master classes and brass ensemble performances with members of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Last summer we had classes from David Zerkel (who was subbing for Ms. Jantsch), Don Harry, Blair Bollinger, Jeff Curnow, and Darrin Milling. All students will be able to see the incredible Philadelphia Orchestra each week perform at their summer home located about 20 minutes away in Saratoga Springs. There are many other events going on this summer, so please go to the Luzerne Music Center website (http://www.luzernemusic.org" target="_blank" target="_blank) for more information. Scholarships are available based on need and audition. Thank you and hope to see you this summer!
