Update is not many people made the cut.
The temptation to quit will be greatest just before you succeed.
Regarding hard work; get tired. Good things happen on the other side of tired.

Congrats to Adam!

There were about 40 applicants in the prelims which were cut to a semi final of 8-9, then to a final of 3. Semi finalists/finalists can identify themselves if they choose (I can't remember everyone's names, and only really knew/know their first names anyway).

1st Round-behind a screen
Berlioz-Hungarian March
Prokofiev-Symph #5
Wagner-Ride

2nd Round-no longer behind a screen
1 min of solo of choice
Bydlo
Fountains
Mahler 1
Till Eulenspiegel

3rd Round-no screen
Sight reading with quintet/quartet

I was there. I advanced past the first round (my first time making it out of prelims...woohoo!), but got nervous and choked the second round (especially during Bydlo, after which I was cut off). I did learn a lot by listening to the finals from outside the room they were being held. I have much work to do, especially on my dealings with nerves and food intake at an audition. Off to practice...
