Kent State University Graduate Assistantship 2014

Hello,

Kent State will have a Graduate Tuba Assistantship open in the Fall 2014 semester. Kent offers many options for graduate work (see below). You do not have to be a performance major to be eligible for the GA.

Half time tuba assistantship
Duties: Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, help assist with tuba studio.
Covers 8 credits tuition free
Stipend approximately $4,000 for the year
*There is a possibility of receiving a full-time assistantship of $8,000/year depending on what is needed in the music school*

Master of Music (M.M.): Performance, Conducting, Music Education
Master of Arts (M.A.): Composition, Ethnomusicology, Musicology, Theory
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.): Music Education, Musicology-Ethnomusicology, Music Theory-Composition

Perks about the area:
Kent State is located in Northeast Ohio only 45 minutes from Cleveland and about 2 hours from Pittsburgh. Plenty of orchestras are in the area including Cleveland Orchestra, Canton Symphony, Akron Symphony and the Pittsburgh Symphony.
