I'm not really sure what everything on that chart means, but with the current exchange rate, the gross monthly salary for this position is about $4788.35 in US currency. Not sure how many months this position lasts or what CoL is in Rio.

You may spend your first year of salary paying for the trip to the audition. Not only do you need to get yourself and horns there, but also a friend: "The candidates should provide their pianist to accompany the audition and all the fees expenses will be of their own responsibilities"

Yes, that is why participating in orchestral auditions is cost prohibitive for a large class of people.
