If you saw my first message regarding an opening for an undergraduate tubist for Fall 2014 at Bard Conservatory, but already have your undergraduate degree...read on! I have some great information regarding an exciting program at Bard College Conservatory called the Advanced Performance Studies Degree. This is a wonderful bridge between your undergraduate and masters (or between your masters and doctorate), and allows you up to 2 years study at the wonderful campus at Bard College! Our current student at Bard (Peter Blaga) is in this program, and I know it has been very rewarding for him.
Benefits of this program:
-allows you the TIME to practice, to really hone your instrument, due to the less strenuous academic requirements
-opportunity to study weekly with Derek Fenstermacher of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, as well as the opportunity to study with American Symphony Orchestra tubist, Kyle Turner
-perform with the Bard Conservatory Orchestra, which tours regularly (European tour scheduled for Summer 2014!)
-highlights of this season's Bard Orchestra include Strauss Till Eulenspiegel, Shostakovich Symphony No. 15, Wagner's Götterdämmerung: Siegfried's Death & Funeral Music, and Copland Symphony No. 3
-orchestral training classes including an all new Brass Class, which combines all the brass students to work through major orchestral works, while being coached by Bard's great faculty
-low brass class, which is run by myself, where we rehearse through major orchestral pieces that are commonly asked in auditions (as well going over strategies for when orchestral auditions call for low brass section playing)
-chamber music opportunities, including a great undergraduate brass quintet
-fantastic facilities, including the all new Bito Conservatory Building, featuring state of the art studios, a brand new rehearsal/performance space, and wonderful recording equipment
-perform at Bard's gorgeous concert hall (http://fishercenter.bard.edu/about/" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank)
I have been told that GENEROUS scholarships are available as well.
For more information about applying:

The application deadline is Jan. 1, but I know in the past they've been flexible with this deadline. Regardless, if you're interested please go ahead and apply.
Please private message me for more information. Have a great 2014!!
