The Prairie Brass Band is looking for a few new recruits for its tuba section. The band has a busy summer and fall concert schedule ahead, and has recently welcomed a new music director to the helm.
The Prairie Brass Band is a traditional English Brass Band, drawing 35 volunteer members from as far south as Springfield, IL and north to Milwaukee, WI. The band plays about 10-15 concerts per year in the Chicagoland area, with a varied brass band repertoire pending the intended audience. In addition, PBB hosts and competes annually in the U.S. Open Brass Band Championships - held the first weekend of November in St. Charles, IL. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings in Arlington Heights, and are usually followed by a casual gathering amongst bandmates at a local establishment.
