Carolina Crown is actually based in Fort Mill, SC, but that is right beside Rock Hill.

Fort Mill, SC & Rock Hill, SC are both part of the greater Charlotte (NC) metropolitan area.
So you have Winthrop University, Carolina Crown and the Charlotte Symphony all relatively close to each other

We are very close to Fort Mill High School, the home of Carolina Crown. It's about a 10 minute drive from campus. We are very supportive of our students who participate in Carolina Crown! There are also a few very large high school and middle school bands in the area so there are a lot of opportunities to gain teaching experience while you study. There are also many playing and listening opportunities in the Charlotte area like the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, Opera Carolina, Queen City Brass Band, and the Carolinas Wind Orchestra.
