1. Etude VI from "Low Etudes for Tuba", Phil Snedecor. (Also available through Robert King Music) Quarter note = 72;
2. First Suite in Eb for Military Band, Gustav Holst. Measures 1-8. Quarter note = 72;
3. Melody Shop, K.L. King. Dogfight in the Trio to the end.(start on third line of the trio, the last two measures) Half note = 144;
4. Toccata Marziale, R. Vaughan Williams. Beginning through the second measure of rehearsal "5" Quarter note = 95. Always choose lower octave on the divisi;
5. Cadenza from Movement 3 of "Sonate", Paul Hindemith.
Always choose the lower octave on the divisi.
No electronic submissions are currently being accepted; physical media only. Audio CD, playable on a normal CD player, is the preferred method.

We just finished listening to a really impressive selection of cd's for the upcoming audition. We are mailing out acceptance and non-acceptance letters today. You should get a response by early next week. We selected 12 applicants to come and play for us live in January. Good luck to all!! It's an awesome job.

Looks like one could accomplish this tryout with a three octave range.
But I'm sure six would be helpful.

A huge congratulations to Chase Garner on winning the audition today after 4 rounds of playing!! It was a pleasure to sit on the panel and hear so many talented musicians. Thanks to all who applied for this awesome job.
