USC Thornton School of Music tuba openings

Post by Norm Pearson »

The USC Thornton School of Music has several openings for outstanding graduate and undergraduate tuba majors for next Fall.
All three of the top tuba players in Los Angeles are on the USC faculty: Jim Self, Norm Pearson and Doug Tornquist. Together they represent the wide spectrum of professional tuba playing as Principals in the L.A. Philharmonic, the L.A. Opera and the Hollywood Studios.. The USC Orchestra and Wind Ensemble are world class, everyone plays in a faculty coached brass quintet and the Monday Night Tuba Master Class has been legendary for over 50 years. USC music grads populate the entire Southern California music scene and are in orchestras and universities all over the world. Studying at USC exposes students to the dynamic musical life of one of the world’s great cities.

Scholarships are available and we urge fine young tuba players to apply before December 1st to:
