University of Illinois
Tuba Teaching Assistantship

University of Illinois Tuba teaching assistantship is available for Fall 2016. Duties include: teaching non-major tuba-euphonium lessons, teaching methods class, coaching chamber ensembles including tuba-euphonium quartets and brass quintets, performing in graduate brass quintet. The Tuba-Euphonium Studio usually includes 18-20 majors. I am very excited about our new Director of Bands, Dr. Stephen Peterson. He is a great conductor and musician. Also, great UI Symphony Orchestra conducted by Donald Schleicher. The Brass Studio is very invested in the Brass Chamber Music program, usually 7-10 groups per semester. The deadline for application is December 1, 2015. Please visit School of Music webpage at: http://www.music.illinois.edu" target="_blank" target="_blank and look under admissions.
Thank you,

As you should be! Dr. Peterson is a fantastic band director. Is Dr. Beth Peterson joining him on the faculty? They were a fantastic double-whammy of good conducting while I was at IC

Yes, Dr. Beth Peterson has joined our band staff. She is also great. We had her conduct our large brass ensemble on our fall concert last month and was a pleasure to work with. She is conducting our second concert band. Both Petersons are wonderful additions to our faculty.
