I am currently accepting admission applications for the Fall 2016 school year. I have openings for tuba and euphonium at the undergraduate and graduate level. Students that are unable to make the drive to audition on campus, can be accepted via MP3 or CD.
About the studio:
We have studio class twice a week with focus on ensemble repertoire and solos. The studio currently has 7 tubas and 3 euphonium students. In addition to the tuba/euph studio, I also conduct the WSU Brass Ensemble and Concert Band. The each group will perform in concert twice times this year. The WSU Tuba/Euphonium Student Group is also highly active with ITEA, and helps sponsor trips to the regional and international ITEA conferences. The Student Group also hosts tuba/euphonium artists. This year the Student Group is hosting Tony Kniffen, David Earll, Andrew Rummel, and Lance LaDuke. Previous guest artists have included Craig Knox, Carol Jantsch, and Don Harry.
Wright State University is located in Dayton, Ohio, about an hour north of Cincinnati. Yearly tuition is currently set at $8,730. We offer scholarships on the basis of academic and musical merit. There are guaranteed scholarships for students that meet certain academic criteria.
Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA):
We have just been authorized to recruit for additional GTAs for this coming year. The possibility of a GTA increases greatly if you have an interest in Music Education or Theory. The GTA stipend is around $8,000 plus full tuition remission.

Tom is a great teacher and has a ton to offer. Wright has a great location with the Cincinnati Symphony, Dayton Phil, Columbus Symphony, Louisville Orchestra and Indianapolis Symphony within a couple hour drive.
