The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own,” the U.S. Army’s premier musical organization, announces a vacancy for TUBA with The U.S. Army Ceremonial Band.

Providing a musical backdrop for many of the nation’s most notable events, The U.S. Army Ceremonial Band has a worldwide reputation for extraordinary musicianship. The musicians in this elite ensemble have been trained at some of the most prestigious conservatories and universities in the country. The Ceremonial Band is comprised of 72 musicians whose principal function is the performance of funerals in Arlington National Cemetery and various other high-visibility ceremonial events in the National Capital region.

So, I’ve been told that Army is only taking prior service for SF and Linguistics by a regular recruiter. What is the validity behind that for bands?

Check with one of the band liaisons. They can dispel any myths...

I have a sixteenth note run in measures 3 and 7 in the dogfight. I only hear recordings with a quarter note instead. Which one should I record?

Congratulations, Zach!!!

Zach is a terrific tubist and person. He's a 2nd-year master's student at Rice, and a 2014 graduate of Baylor University. (Sic 'em, Bears!)
