Hi Everyone,

I have an opening next Fall for a teaching assistant in the tuba/euphonium studio at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. This position is open to anyone interested in pursuing a Master of Music degree in tuba.

The assistantship comes with a tuition waiver and a stipend of aprox. 9,000. Responsibilities include rehearsals, performances, and outreach with the Graduate Brass Quintet and duties within the tuba/euphonium studio.

UMass Amherst is a large state university with a thriving music department. We are relatively close to Boston and New York and have easy access to major East Coast musical institutions. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Thanks!

I studied with John for several years and was his Teaching Assistant at UMass from 2011 - 2013. He is a tremendous tuba player and even better Musician. I highly recommend working with this great teacher.

As far as the school, UMass is situated in beautiful part of the country. Mountains, hiking, biking trails and access to all the major cities on the East coast. It has an awesome recital hall and a faculty that is fun to work with!

All the Best to John!
