Tuba youth of the world: Rather than spending the entire summer playing Halo 5 this year consider getting ahead of the curve by attending Curtis Summerfest!
This is a unique festival that combines private instruction, chamber music, and orchestral playing and puts you in direct contact with some amazing faculty members on the Curtis campus! The Curtis Institute is a small music conservatory in center city Philadelphia and during the school year produces some of our greatest musical artists including folks like: Samuel Barber, Leonard Bernstein, and Arnold Jacobs!
Check out some of the awesome faculty members here:

I will have the pleasure of working with the tubas this summer, but you will have a chance to interact with many other amazing faculty members as well as meet players your age who are also on track to take over the world! This is a great experience that will look good on your college applications and should be a boatload of fun. The Curtis campus is awesome and a very inspiring place to work and practice. Tubas: If you are thinking of auditioning for Curtis for college in the future (you should!) this is a good way to get to know the school and see what it has to offer! Please drop me a line if you have any questions! (shorner at towson dot edu)
