Tim Northcut won, retaining his position as Principal Tuba. There were three guys in finals including Tim.

Just my assumptions but I would guess that Mr. Northcut was only temporary or interim. I could be mistaken but I believe that to be the case, correct me if I'm wrong.

Each Orchestra has different rules in their contracts for auditions and one year positions. It sounds like Dayton had given a year contract to Mr Northcut and had it in their contract for him to have another audition. Curious to know who else was in the finals though.

1. I beleive that roughly 90 resumes were received with around 28 auditioning (These numbers are ballpark--don't take them as exact).

2. Mr. Northcut did win the job last year, but it was indeed only a one year appointment.
