Tuba/Euphonium Studio and Graduate Brass Quintet (Available Fall 2019)

The student selected for this position assists in applied and small ensemble instruction, and performs with the Graduate Brass Quintet. The GBQ performs each semester in University commencement exercises and presents concerts on and off campus as assigned. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Prerequisites include superior tuba performance ability and successful teaching in studio and/or school settings, including ability to teach euphonium at the undergraduate level. This is a 1/4 position, requiring 10 - 12 hours of work per week.

We also have fully funded (tuition waiver + stipend) positions open for anyone interested in pursuing a DMA in Contemporary Music here at BGSU. This position is open to either instrument. Interested parties can contact me again, or go to this link: https://www.bgsu.edu/musical-arts/prosp ... s/dma.html" target="_blank. All application materials for the DMA degree must be turned in by December 1, 2018. This unique degree specializes in music post 1950 and, when completed, provides candidates with a versatile degree that can help separate you from the "pack" when it comes time to the ever important job application process.

Ample opportunities for scholarship also exist at the Undergraduate Level for both academic achievement and merit (audition) awards. Please, email me, or go here for more information about applying for undergraduate degrees at BGSU: https://www.bgsu.edu/musical-arts/prosp ... ation.html" target="_blank

BGSU also offers undergraduates a unique opportunity of study with the Hansen Fellowship (currently we have two Tuba Hansen Fellows at BGSU). In addition to basic scholarship funds, the Fellowship provides students with funding for summer study, private lessons, commissioning of a new piece of music, and a final recording project. More information on the Hansen Fellowship can be found here: https://www.bgsu.edu/musical-arts/prosp ... wship.html" target="_blank

All my best!

Most Sincerely,
