New Philadelphia Orchestra Recording of Bartok Concerto/Orch
A new recording of the Philadelphis Orchestra playing Bartok Concerto for Orchestra recently went on sale - the booklet indicates that it was recorded in May 2005. Does anyone know who's playing tuba on this?

I believe the listing to be incorrect. Most orchestras will use their regular roster and their yearly orchestra photo on all albums. As with their Playbill programs, substitute players are rarely listed unless engaged for an entire season. A good example is the 1992 Barenboim/CSO Verdi Requiem on Erato where both Floyd Cooley and Gene Pokomy (sic) are listed under tuba (Floyd was subbing for the '92-93 season, though I have been told that it is actually Mr. PorkoRNy on this one).
After careful listening to this new Bartok recording, I feel the tuba playing has a distinctly different character to anything I have heard Mr. Krzywicki play during live performances or any of the many recordings he made with the Philadelphia orchestra. Given that the Philadelphia Orchestra used many subs during the 2004-05 season, including Ed Diefes, Craig Knox, Steven Dumaine, Steve Rosse, and possibly others, I believe it is reasonable to assume that one of these players is on the recording.
Again, I respectfully request that anyone with definitive knowledge of which player performed in the concerts in May, and subsquently recorded Concerto for Orchestra with Philly, please post an answer.
Sincerely
