Sesame street, various...

Post by JHardisk »

Ok, So I admit... I watch a lot of Sesame Street. (Actually, my almost 2 year old daughter is an Elmo junkie, thus forcing me to partake in the Sesame goodness).

There are many times that the tuba is prominent in this show.

I have recently seen an episode, rather a video where James Taylor is singing with some children about "Jelly" coming. There is a tubist playing along, and he's actually in the video! It looks like a very early Jon Sass. Can anyone confirm this?

Also.. If you've got kids, and they like Sesame.. check out "Let's make music". It features Stomp, and the plot revolves around Telly losing his tuba and learning to make music with other things.

I thought that was Howard Johnson playing with James Taylor, not Jon Sass. Maybe I was wrong.

The Jelly Man Kelly thing is Howard Johnson. The rest of show's tuba is almost exclusively Dave Bargeron.

except for the times Sam Pilafian was on...that wasn't Dave or Howard. It was Sam.

I'm talking about the background tracks: for Telly's tuba, and any other time they needed tuba for the show.
