I caught this on my local station tonight. It was a wonderful performance. I don't know who the tuba player was, but I think the horn was a BBb Hirsbrunner 193 (HB-7) 5/4 Kaiser tuba. At least thats what it looked like. The leadpipe on the outside of the 1st valve slide was an good indicator. as was the profile of the instrument. And the enormous thumbring. Whoever the player was, he certainly knew how to lay it out! The trombone section was very tight and clean. The strings had a depth and sonority you don't usually here from orchestras in this country. Especially the bass section! WOW. Thanks for the heads up Robert!
