If it truly was recorded in September 1993, then it was Gene. Floyd played the '92-'93 season. I would imagine this is on the Erato label? They probably just didn't get around to updating their personnel list. There was a great poster I saw at a Tower Records of the CSO (an ad for Erato) whereby Floyd and Charlie Vernon switched seats and instruments! It may be on the cover of one of the CDs as well.

I was a student at DePaul and saw them do the Verdi...probably that same year. Gene did it all on the York CC. The only seats available were at the VERY top of Orchestra Hall...had to stand during the entire show to see everything. I remember seeing this really old dude playing the bass drum hits on TWO extremely large bass drums. I wanted to stage dive right then and there!

Those trumpets on this recording.....unbelievable. Well, whole brass section really.
