Monster House

Post by ajmtuba »

Hey everyone, I just saw Monster House yesterday, pretty cool movie, with some killer low brass parts in general, let alone tuba. It's a dreamworks picture, if anyone knows who made up the lowbrass, i'd love to know. Thanks to whoever knows.

I bet it would be either Tommy Johnson or Jim Self. It would be more likely to be Self, because he seems to have played more recent movies. Good site to find the brass players in a movie is www.moviebrass.com.

I just listened to some of this score on XM Cinemagic today. The tuba had some very cool, independent stuff, and sounded really good. I am resurrecting this thread to see if anyone knows for sure who it was.

I forget who it was, though I saw recently. It was actually in an article on tubanews. It was one of the articles about the "new" guys in the Hollywood studios. Can't remember who though.

And the answer is...Doug Tornquist

A quick search of tubanews.com was all that was needed.
