Clothing retailer Mens' Wearhouse had a commercial on ABC today during the ASU/U$C game that had a tuba soloing with a combo as the music soundtrack. Sounded like piano/bass/drums in the background. Nice playing, whoever that was.

You're gonna like the way you play tuba, I guarantee it.

I've heard that commercial a few times on the Yankee channel (YES) while watching games. It prompted me to send an email off to Men's Warehouse. The person who responded told me who the person was who would have produced that commercial. I forget his name, but I did send off an email to him (when I knew his name). He has yet to respond. I would be interested to know who is playing on that commercial too - good stuff!

I too wondered who that was...

Many, if not most, commercial jingles are recorded in Chicago -- and Rex Martin is the first call for ALL that stuff (he's played on over 3000 commercials) If you hear tuba on a commercial, chances are it might be Rex.

I asked him if it was indeed him -- he said he "did not think so"

So... anyone know for sure? People always ask me who that one is...

I have heard the commercial myself. I remember thinking that it sounded like my high school teacher, Doug Tornquist. He does a decent amount of studio work. That is my guess. If I see him I'll ask.
