A few Vaughan Williams recordings...

Post by Billy M. »

Ok, I'm curious after some time as to who was playing tuba in the following recordings of Vaughan Williams.

1. "A Sea Symphony" - Sir Adrian Boult, LPO Prod. 1968 EMI

2. Symphonies 3 & 4 - Leonard Slatkin, Philharmonia Prod. 1993 RCA

3. Symphony No. 6 - Sir Andrew Davis, BBC Symphony Prod. 1991 Teldec

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Billy.

I can tell you it would have been John Jenkins for the Slatkin recordings. Unsure about the others.

I imagine the BBC recording would have been Paul Smith...

And the LPO recording might have been Paul Lawrence
