Pink Panther Strikes....?
Pink Panther strikes again....lovely tuba solo about 2/3 of the way through the movie. It's the scene when Clouseau is in the hotel and some dressed as him is shot. Who is it? Sounds like Tommy Johnson to me.

Not 100% sure, but it might've been John Fletcher. Sidney Sax is listed as the concertmaster for that movie in the IMDB database, and he's a London-based cat. Other credits for him list London Symphony Orchestra, so the PPSA might've been recorded in that neck of the woods.james wrote:Pink Panther strikes again....lovely tuba solo about 2/3 of the way through the movie. yeah
Yeah...Fletcher was my second guess but I thought that maybe since it was Mancini's music that Tommy had done the film. That, and the sound has that beautiful 184 "zip" character to it. Fletcher makes perfect sense though (and the "zip" could have been a Besson Eb).
