I have just been listening to a recording of Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 3 "Polish" played by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by Abbado recorded in 1990. What a fantastic sound - I see why you in the states all love the CSO Yorks!

Would that be Jacobs or Pokorny playing tuba?

That recording could very well be Floyd Cooley who was there from 1990-1992 while Gene played in the LA Phil.

Gene was in LA from October 1992 to August 1993.
