Actually, Signs was recorded right here in L.A.Bob1062 wrote:I believe I read somewhere that the movie Signs had MULTIPLE cimbasso and contrabass trombone players, to the point that they had a hard time finding enough people in England to do it.
How many tubas? Who and what did they play?

Must be nice having roadies!!Schultz on the basstrombone.nl forum wrote:I know for a fact that the soundtrack to Signs (score by James Newton Howard) has contra bass trombone in it , cos i was lucky enough to be in LA and met up with Bill Reichenbach and got to sit in on a days recording. In this one bit with these huge pedal E's, Phil Teele was playing bass bone, and Reichenbach and Jim Self were both playing cimbasso. The composer came up to the podium and asked for one bit to cut through a bit more, and asked Reichenbach to change that bit from cimbasso to contra, which he just hopped over to and pulled out of it's case( You should see the amount of gear these guys carry with them to these sessions) As i was there they made me Jim Self's roadie, and i lugged his cimbasso and bass bone too and from the carpark!
