Morton Feldman's "Durations III"/Ensemble Avantgar

Post by tubafatness »

Would anyone know who played the tuba part on Ensemble Avantgarde's recording of "Durations III"? I really like the piece, and I just wanted to know who played the tuba line.
Thanks,
Aaron

Talk about abstract. I played this piece on a recital once...and well....I think it left the audience dazed and confused. I like it though! So there. One piece I think would be really cool to play would be "For Samuel Beckett" scored for muted Brass quintet and other stuff. That's probably my favorite thing of his that I've heard.

The tuba player on that CD is Bernd Angerhöfer. Here's an article about him if you can read German:

Thanks! I hope I can find a place someday to play that piece, even if most of the audience would be, as you say, "dazed and confused."
