Dennis the Menace and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels soundtracks

Post by WakinAZ »

More of an observation than a question, but if anyone knows the players:

My son was watching the Dennis the Menace movie in the next room the other day while I was at the computer, and I noticed there is a lot of good tuba work in the soundtrack. I'm not sure if I would ever sit through this film, even though I like Walter Matthau, but it was nice to hear the tuba parts.

Also the original Dirty Rotten Scoundrels with Steve Martin and Michael Caine has a lot of good tuba on the soundtrack. This is actually worth watching, if you haven't seen it. The "Ruprecht the Monkey Boy" scene alone is worth the rental fee.

It has been brought to my attention that Mr. Jim Self played tuba on both of these soundtracks. No wonder they caught my attention.
