I picked up a CD of the DWS with Fennell from 1992 the other day. It is titled,"Trittico" and in addition to the Nelhybel has the Dello Joio "Variants on a Mediaeval Tune" and some other nice stuff. The low brass are amazing, particularly the Bass Trombone. I assume that Cauthen is pricipal tuba but beyond that does anyone have a low brass roster from this recording?

I will try to dust off my memory a bit:

1st trombone: Mike Harp
2nd trombone: ??? (I can see his face but can't remember his name).
bass trombone: Doug Camp or Bob Lawless

Euphonium: Marta O'Campo and either Jimmy Clark or David Strand

Tuba: Alex Cauthen, Ed Jones

I thought the roster was on the CD jacket. Guess not.

Boy do I feel stupid. I looked in the jacket and viola, there it is. Your memory is pretty good. Blomquist, 1st tbn; Harp on 2nd; Michael Purdy 3rd and Lawless bass. The rest you got. Kudo's on the recording. I played bass trombone in Trittico at CBDNA. Must have been '65. Nehlybel dropped a beat on us in the opening. That really mucked things up until the trumpet entrance. I always wanted a good recording which is why I bought this. I was most impressed with the depth charges from you and Lawless in the Dello Joio. Those licks are probably the most fun I have ever had with a trombone in my hand. What a huge sound you guys get on that! Thanks for the memories, and the wonderful music.
