It's from 1984...almost surely Tommy Johnson. The excellent score was written by James Horner.

Also, the beginning of "Stealing the Enterprise" sounds pretty interesting...

Can't confirm that there weren't others involved, perhaps even doubled up in a cue (a la Jerry Goldsmith's score for Star Trek - The Motion Picture). Tommy was on that score, however. For all you Trekkers out there, he was actually on Star Trek 1-5, The Undiscovered Country, Generations, Insurrection, Nemesis, and numerous Star Trek T.V. spinoffs...
