Yes, it was Bobo on that recording. The lick before the 'big' solo in the 1st mvmt with the trombones.....Reynolds and Bobo.....jaw-dropping.

I really love this recording. Bobo and Jeff Reynolds (not to mention Thomas Stevens on trumpet) are very aggressive. That passage before the tuba solo in the first movement is really powerful. I'm not sure but I think the 2nd trombone or the bass trombone goes down to a C# below the staff and really hits it as loud as on any recording (well the New York Mehta one is loud too haha)

I am ashamed to say, that I have not heard this recording...I need to get off my *** and find it! My personal favorite are the NYPO/Mehta, and the DVD of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra under Abbado, especially the trombone line at the very end of the finale

Astounding playing on both recordings.

I always thought it was the 2nd trombone too but on
http://www.tromboneexcerpts.org/" target="_blank it appears the bass trombone is the one that has it--which makes more sense. Go to movement 1, excerpt 4 bass trombone and there she is
