Who played Flumpet on "The Flumps?"

Strange TV show for kids (from the UK?) - I have a lead on who played trombone for the opening theme

Not quite right, Dave. It certainly was George Chisholm who played the title music to "The Flumps" in his inimitable style.
The "Flumpet" however, was recorded some years later. It was played (on a euphonium) by London freelance trombonist John Edney. One of those embarrassing sessions where you are asked to deliberately play badly. Although George sadly died some years ago, John is still freelancing, and is very active in education and serves on several Musicians' Union committees.
