Also, please note the horn played on ABC was the brand new DCD-1185 6/4 CC built by Matt Walters and the folks at Dillon Music in Woodbridge, NJ.
Had it less than a week and had the honor to play it in the Boston Pop's last weekend and the Celtic's game Sunday. Nothing like a little pressure, then add a brand new horn into the mix.

It's the first of her kind and a VERY special horn already! When Dillon Music builds a couple more of these and the word spreads around, they gonna be busy building these because this horn is awesome! Go to the new CC tuba section on their website, it will be in there somewhere.

Think it was just luck to get the gig since a bunch of guys were out of town at the time. Most of my "spare time" is devoted to being a gig wh0re, incuding four times as many parades this summer than my 8 years in the USAF! Yuck, but a gig is a gig, right?

And thanks for enjoying my "carbs loaded" good looks. It more than cancels out any other bozo comments out there. Actually, I just worked out for the first time in 6 months after getting out. It was a great feeling and we gotta stay on that wagon. It was a somewhat rough transition to civilian life with getting Bell's Palsy, the usual anxiety of what the future holds, getting out of doing what I love...throwing the iron and steel around, and getting back into school for an undergrad degree (3rd time is a charm, fingers crossed) at 36 ys of age.

You have a great gig, man! With all the crap you have to deal with, it's still the steadiest gig out there with all the perks for you and your beautiful family. I have tons of reasons why I got out, but also have a ton of reasons why I should have stayed. ALSO, I respect the heck out of any GOOD musician in a military band for putting up with all the garbage, military and musical (if you been in/are in, you know what I mean), for twenty+ years to get that pension. You deserve it and thank you for YOUR service!

I do not know what the future holds for the military band system, but I sincerely hope the powers that be can keep the ship afloat/plane in the air/boots on the ground. Too much shaking going on, if you know what I'm saying.
