I was listening to this song because I'd heard on the DVD menu of the original movie..does anyone know who plays the solo on the recording by the "Skywalker Symphony"?

The recording that was made in the Skywalker Studios in Marin County, was done by MAINLY SF Symphony players. Floyd was the tubist.

Fletcher recorded the original soundtrack. I believe they are talking about this re-recording of the soundtracks... http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Trilogy ... 530&sr=8-5" target="_blank" target="_blank
ah okay makes sense. I have the Fletcher version (I think) on itunes. I'll have to check out Floyd's.

Some time, I should compare the Skywalker ranch recordings to those used in some of the video games. Particularly the Jedi Academy title. The presence of the tuba part in the game soundtrack is very strong. Always made me want to put down the game and pick up a horn.

The "jabba" solo was either cut into the game, or recorded for it.

Slightly off topic: Anyone else listen to the extra takes in "starburst", from the CD's of the original movies?
