Re: The Shining
Doesn't appear to give any information about the opening credits at all. Agree with PM and Chuck...that's not a tuba.
Re: The Shining
FWIW, lots of the score found in movies isn't usually listed in the soundtrack. A sound track seems to be more about a commercial venture in which only the recognizable tracks are going to be featured. "Filler music" usually doesn't make it on the track. Kubrick'smovies are especially notorious for the reluctance to use original scores. Most of his movies use arrangements of other works (either with synths or orchestras) and classical or popular music(especially in Full Metal Jacket) without any tweaking. No original score exists in his later movies. The "digital orchestra" you refer to is Wendy Carlos..... Yamaha YEP-642s

Re: The Shining2 or 3 of the attacks almost sound like tubas, but then fuzz into sythesis pretty quickly. At least 2 of them don't seem to be as completely together as one would expect of a synth.
Re: The ShiningYeah, But... What Awesome photography! Sure it was the dies irie..
