Does anyone know who the tuba player is in the VPO when they recorded this? And would anyone know what kind of tuba he is playing on.

This was from the film that chronicled the recording of the entire Ring Cycle with those forces in the late 50's and early 60's. I have seen earlier scenes and it is evident that there are two tubas. I believe that one of them is a young Bob Tucci. Fascinating chronicle of one of the monumental recording projects ever undertaken.

Sorry, forgot to add that the horn the gentleman is playing doesn't look like any BBb I'm fimiliar with. I thought it maight have been an Alex, but the bell looks a little to small for one. Smarter people will be able to conjecture with more accuracy.
