Just to clarify, Tommy Johnson does do it most every year, but Jim Self did the Academy Awards a couple of years ago when John Williams was the conductor. "Monica" sounded great!

I'd like to know who was blowing lead trumpet on the tune at the end of the show.

Super high.

In tune.

Balanced dynamics.

WOW!

Thanks in advance.

Rick Baptist has been the first trumpet on the Academy Awards for years, so I would imagine it was Rick yesterday. The year John Williams conducted, I believe it was either Tim Morrison or Malcolm McNab. Jim would know all of this for sure.

Horn Clam

Anybody else notice the HUGE horn clam in the middle of the show? I'm sure whoever that was got a ton of grief over it. ;-)

Actually, yeah I did but I wasn't sure if my ears were deceiving. Guess not! But as Johnny Carson said, "You miss once in a while."
