Re: 1939 Wizard of Oz - tuba (Does Norm know?)
Norm, you are a great source of knowledge about the Los Angeles scene, past and present. I watched the LAPO Hollywood Bowl Verdi Requiem performance on PBS tonight. Do you know who was playing cimbasso? It looked to be a huge instrument. Wonder what the details are-----manufacturer, bore, pitch, etc. Ace

Re: 1939 Wizard of Oz - tuba (Does Norm know?)The picture of the guy holding the double bass comes up in a search of his name, but - not having a clue what he looks like - I don't know if that is a group of actors, a group of not-actors, or a combination of actors and him...
...so - out of sheer ignorance - I'm asking a real question about the picture.
Re: 1939 Wizard of Oz - tuba (Does Norm know?)The guy holding the bass looks like Zeppo Marx to me (the one on the right in this picture).

Re: 1939 Wizard of Oz - tuba (Does Norm know?)Did you know Frank Sinatra's last wife, Barbara, was the widow of Zeppo Marx?
