Joe Novotny was the tuba player on that recording. He was probably playing on a Bell Model Meinl or a King Bell Model. I feel this is the finest recording of the work ever done and Mr. Novotny plays the s**^t out of the part. Mr. Novotny was the tubist with the NYPO from 1961-1979 . Mr. Deck took over in the fall of 1979.
