Excellent quirky orchestration and some stunning tuba and contrabasson playing. any ideas who?

Gene Pokorny's bio mentions his participation in the soundtrack of Nightmare Before Christmas. Unfortunately I have no idea who could have played contrabassoon, but now I'm anxious to dig up my vhs version to hear the parts myself.
