City of Briminghan Symphony Orchestra recording

Post by tubafatness »

Does anyone know who played tuba on the recording of Messiaen's "Turangalila-Symphonie," conducted by Simon Rattle and performed by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra?

The copyright puts the date at 1971, with it meing remastered in 1991. The version I own is an EMI Classics compilation from 2005.

Are you sure Simon Rattle was conducting the CBSO in 1971?
He mus have been very young.
