Gremlins - 1984 - Goldsmith

Post by toobagrowl »

Lately I've been listening to the Gremlins filmscore. This movie and it's music is probably more emotional for me for multiple reasons (too much to post here). Guessing Tommy Johnson played tuba on it; sounds like it :tuba: The way the synth is added with the orchestra is amazing and gives many memories from my childhood. Something about the sometimes-warm, sometimes-glassy/icy sounds of the DX7 synth made the music more haunting, yet more innocent at the same time. And there is a fair amount of tuba in this score :!:

Tommy played on Gremlins and Gremlins 2. Can’t guarantee there weren’t other players involved in some of the dates, but Tommy was on both movies.
