This message is for the gentleman who cuts the king BBb tubas to CC (Sam Gnagey?)
I have an old king three valver that I want to put a fourth valve on. But I thought rather than put the usual pinky valve on I would like to put a thumb rotor on it with a larger bore size to help keep the low register more open. I also thought I would tune the 4th valve to low Eb instead of F to better facilitate getting the low CCC & BBB.
I also figured I would use a first valve slide pull to tune the C and B, but I need to make that a tuning slide on top, since this is an older 1240 that does not have the tuning slide on the top fo the first valve.
I was wondering what kind of rotor valve you put on and where you get the parts for the linkage and the tuning slide pull, etc.
