Presser, ross, anderson recordings

Post by Blastissimo con Forte »

I'm looking for Three recordings.
1. Concert Piece for Tuba and Band - Eugene D. Anderson
2. Capriccio for Tuba and band - William Presser
3. Concerto for Tuba and Band - Walter Ross

Does anyone have recordings of these they could maybe email to me? Thanks.

Check on Amazon and you can find a recording of the Anderson. Sam Pilafian I believe on tuba.

Harvey Phillips recorded the Ross, and Michael Astwood recorded the Presser....but good luck finding those. They are old LP's. My advice if you absolutely must have them is to talk to a librarian at your local university. They might be able to help you via interlibrary loan or something like that. A big "if" though.

Good luck!

ps- If this is for a band concerto competition, I'd forget about these pieces and play the Gregson, but it's all up to you.

Actually I found these pieces in a program notes for solo tuba book and just want to hear them and see what they're like.
